Windsor CSD Summer Program Recap - July 29

The fourth week of the Windsor CSD 2026 summer program continued on Wednesday.
On the second-to-last day of Knight Lights, STEM students made butter. They created a physical change in matter but rupturing the fat molecules in cream to turn liquid cream into solid butter.  

Recently graduated Binghamton University softball player Olivia Kennedy visited camp on Wednesday. She spoke to students about the importance of sleep, nutrition, and hydration for athletes. She also stressed that a person’s identity isn’t attached to activities at which they excel, but instead to being a good friend, or a good teammate. She told campers to not let a bad game or bad practice define them.

3rd- and 4th-grade students hosted a lemonade stand. They spent the week making lemonade as well as posters and commercials for the stand.

5th- and 6th-grade students continued their food unit, with middle school Spanish teacher Sean Cook having his students make fresh fruit salad.  

Middle school students in the Windsor Strong Academy finished building their cardboard boats for the Windsor Strong Regatta on Thursday – the final day of the camp.

Golf, volleyball, soccer, and football camps continued on Wednesday.

Golfers practiced putting, had a putting contest, worked on chipping and reading the greens, and played some holes.  

Volleyball players had a scavenger hunt on the Windsor Central High School campus before working on following their partner to the ball and moving their feet even when not making a play.

Soccer campers held a juggling competition and played 3-vs.-3, 4-vs.-4, and 5-vs.-5 games.

Football players worked on tackling drills.
