NYSPHSAA Names WCHS a School of Excellence for 2025-26
The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) has named Windsor Central High School a School of Excellence for the 2025-26 school year.
To earn the School of Excellence Award, 75 percent or more of a school's varsity teams must achieve Scholar-Athlete Team status. To receive Scholar-Athlete team recognition, the average GPA of the top 75% of the roster must be greater than or equal to 90.00.
“The Windsor Central School District is proud to announce that we are once again a NYSPHSAA School of Excellence. Academic achievement is a point of pride for our athletic program and for almost all of our varsity teams to earn a 3.6 GPA or higher throughout the year is a great accomplishment,” said Chris Klumpp, Windsor CSD Director of Health, Athletics, and Safety.
"The commitment demonstrated by our member schools to academic excellence continues to be one of the greatest strengths of educational-based athletics," said Dr. Robert Zayas, NYSPHSAA Executive Director. "These awards recognize entire school communities that value success in the classroom as much as success in competition."
