Windsor CSD Summer Program Recap - July 15
The second week of the Windsor CSD 2026 summer program continued Wednesday.
Knight Lights elementary campers enjoyed a visit from Ruby and Rowdy, the mascots from the Binghamton Rumble Ponies.
STEM students also learned about science phenomena. They used an investigative mindset to observe the physical world, doing experiments testing the surface tension of water, reaction of light, and chemical reactions.
5th- and 6th-grade students continued studying accessibility. They viewed pictures of accessible spaces and toured Palmer Elementary/Windsor Central Middle School to see examples. They will also use Play Doh, Magna Blocks, and Legos to create examples of accessible spaces.
Middle school students in the Windsor Strong Academy continued building their castles and catapults. They will hold a catapult Olympics on Thursday, using the devices during a kingdom battle when each kingdom tries to destroy another kingdom’s castle.
Tennis, track and field, and swimming and diving camps resumed on Wednesday after being cancelled on Tuesday due to excessive heat.
Tennis players split into three groups of doubles tandems. They played games and learned how to keep score.
Swimming and diving campers worked on freestyle strokes, including flutter kicks and the front crawl stroke.
Track athletes practiced hurdles, long jump, and relays.
Sports campers spent the second half of the camps indoors on Wednesday.
