Otis Wins $40,000 Binghamton Garden Club Scholarship

Windsor Central High School senior Talon Otis won the Laimons E. and Silvia Drupa Scholarship, a regional scholarship bequeathed to the Binghamton Garden Club by long-time member, Silvia Drupa.

“I want to become a wildlife biologist to help make the world a better place not just for humans but the wildlife and ecosystems that live within it,” said Otis.

The scholarship provides $10,000 to a Broome County senior majoring in environmental science, horticulture, botany, forestry, or related field. Through maintaining a 3.0 GPA, recipients may receive the $10,000 award each year through their senior year of college totaling $40,000.
