Two of Windsor’s newest educators participated in the district’s New Teacher Orientation on Tuesday.

Ciara Heatherman will teach art at Weeks and Bell Elementary schools. She previously taught in Lackawanna Trail and Scranton in Pennsylvania, Deposit, and most recently was the Director of Education at the Discover Center in Binghamton
“I have family in Windsor, so I’m familiar with the area. I know it’s a great school district, and I’m just really excited to be here,” said Heatherman. “I’m excited about getting to know the students and creating a positive learning community.”
Liz Dubois will be a social worker at Bell Elementary. She held a similar position at Wayland-Cohocton in Western New York.
“I’ve heard great things about Windsor. It’s a small-town vibe but big goals for students,” said Dubois.
The teachers also met their mentors for the year, Randi Silvernail and Heather Horton.
“This is a great opportunity for them to come in and learn about the district and our Professional Learning Community practices, as well as meet their mentors and learn about our new teacher support to help set them up for a successful year,” said Barbara Tasber, Director of Learning, Leadership, and Technology for the Windsor CSD.
