Windsor CSD Summer Program Update - August 13
Campers put the finishing touches on their final projects at the Windsor Fine Arts Camp on Wednesday, in anticipation of Thursday’s concluding performances. Studio art campers put the finishing touches on their birdhouses. On Monday, they researched bird species to choose a bird and design a birdhouse to attract that species. Those who finished their birdhouse worked on either a constellation watercolor or a canvas painting.
The 6th-8th-grade band musicians practiced music from the musical, Mamma Mia!, which the ensemble will perform on Thursday. The 5th-grade band played Beat Detective and worked on their arrangements of Eye of the Tiger and Lightspeed for Thursday.
Advanced Vocal singers continued work on their performance of Jessie J’s song, Price Tag, which they will perform on Thursday.
Theater students continued rehearsing skits they will perform during the camp’s final day.
Musicians in Modern Band worked on their ukulele arrangement of the song, Riptide. Advanced band campers did the same, but on the bass guitar.
Music Tech students refined and mixed their original compositions in GarageBand using music loops.
Sing, Move, Play campers continued practicing bucket drumming.
Campers in the Beat the Odds drum circle continued to produce rhythms, with students taking turns leading the circle and making final decisions on what to perform on Thursday.
