Windsor CSD Summer Program Update - August 4
The Windsor CSD summer program’s two-week Fine Arts camp began on Monday, with options in art, music, and theater.Artists had their choice of six sessions: figure drawing, free drawing, kindness rock painting, a Jeff Koons-inspired mixed-media project, bracelet making, and abstract painting.
The musical ensembles were Advanced Band, Modern Band, 5th-Grade Band, Music Tech, Advanced Vocal, and a drum circle called Beat the Odds. Musicians in Modern Band learned the ukulele, while 5th-grade musicians started practicing the song "Windsor Rocks." Music Tech students, on the other hand, learned Groove Pizza, an app that utilizes math concepts like shapes, angles, and patterns to create musical grooves.
Theater students brainstormed ideas for a product for a commercial they will write and perform on Thursday. They also performed some improv exercises.
Bowling and field hockey camps began on Monday. A mix of new and experienced bowlers played at Ripic Lanes in Binghamton. They also played bowling bingo. They would mark off squares for different results on the lane, such as bowling a strike, picking up a split, two strikes in a row, etc. Bowling coaches will hand out prizes on Thursday to those who were able to fill out their bingo cards best.
Field hockey players learned proper mechanics, footwork, and practiced skills such as shooting and dribbling. They will continue their skill development throughout the week.
